FAQs about me, and about the process…

What does therapy look like with you?

My therapy style usually works within a person-centered, relational and cognitive-behavioral framework. I am going to ask about you, your goals, your family/relationships, your history, and other important life experiences and events so that we can begin to identify and understand thinking, feeling, and behavioral patterns that may or may not be working for you.

How are changes made in therapy?

Together, we can work to decrease your symptoms, such as anxiety and depression through building a therapeutic relationship, and increasing self-awareness and coping skills, which can help improve your self-esteem, personal relationships, and overall satisfaction with life.

Are you offering in-person sessions?

Currently, I am only meeting via telehealth/video conferencing. In my experience, therapy through video has extremely positive results. There may be opportunities for in-person sessions in the future.

How long does therapy last?

In the beginning, I typically start by meeting with clients on a weekly basis, but once we have established some trust and the reasons for therapy, I can be flexible in frequency (biweekly, bimonthly, monthly, etc.) and therapy can last as long or as brief as needed. Your therapy goals are determined by you, and continually acknowledged, assessed and addressed in our collaborative work together for as long as it feels helpful to you.

What do I have to bring to therapy?

Getting started with therapy can sometimes be scary or uncertain. You and I can focus on what is most meaningful and difficult for you. Healing and self-improvement usually increases with honesty, vulnerability, a willingness to look inward, and to learn and practice new skills and ways of being.

What type of clients do you work with?

I have a lot of experience in working with people of many different races, ethnicities, religions, cultural backgrounds, identities, orientations, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and parents/family members with a wide variety of life challenges and diagnosis’, and ALL are welcomed to my practice. I specialize in working with diverse individual adults 18yo+ through all stages of life, including adults in their young, middle and advanced ages.

How do we get started?

You can call, text or email me to request a brief consultation in which we will discuss what brings you to therapy, logistics and scheduling, and get a sense of whether we will be a good fit in our work together. I look forward to getting to know you and working together to help you improve how you feel.
